Jeb Foods is a family business. Save All Africa Kids is the other half of it. One sells African food and beauty in New Jersey. The other looks after children in Nigeria. They run out of the same building, on Indiana Street in Union.
What Save All Africa Kids does
Save All Africa Kids (saak.org) is the working name of the JEB Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity registered in New Jersey. Its own stated purpose is to improve the lives of orphaned and underprivileged children in Africa, primarily Nigeria, by providing food, clothing, medical supplies and educational materials through partnerships with local orphanages, schools and non governmental organisations.
Food and clean water
The first thing a child needs before anything else works.
Shelter and clothing
Basic dignity, delivered through local orphanages that already know these children.
School fees and supplies
Education is the part that changes the next twenty years, not just the next week.
Medical supplies
Getting treatable things treated, before they become something worse.
Mentoring
Someone who keeps showing up. Money alone does not do this part.
Child sponsorship
If you want to back one child rather than a fund, you can.
Why a food company runs a charity
Because the two are the same story told twice. The suya spice, the crayfish, the palm kernel oil we sell here all come from the same part of the world these children are growing up in. Selling Nigerian food in America and then turning away from Nigerian children would be a strange way to run a business.
Save All Africa Kids works to a simple line: no child left behind.
How you can help
Part of what you spend at Jeb Foods goes to this work. If you want to give directly, or sponsor a child, that happens on the Save All Africa Kids site rather than here, so your donation goes to the charity and not through the shop.
